When registering for a Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshop, participants and caregivers will be asked to review and agree to the policies and expectations below. These guidelines help ensure a safe, supportive, and positive experience for everyone involved. Some details may vary depending on the format or needs of a particular workshop, and any workshop-specific expectations will be clearly provided during registration.
Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops provides small, supportive creative workshops for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to build confidence, foster creativity, and encourage meaningful friendships through theater, improv, visual arts, storytelling, and creative life enrichment experiences. Workshops are led by me, Ms. Lindsay, along with my assistant, Ms. Amanda Guarnero. To help create a positive experience for everyone, Participants should be able to engage safely and respectfully in group activities with the support provided by Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops. My goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where every participant feels valued, has the opportunity to express themselves creatively, discover new strengths, and build lasting friendships.
POLICIES & EXPECTATIONS
Participant Expectations:
Participants are expected to treat others with kindness and respect and to follow directions during workshop activities. The goal is to create a positive and supportive group environment for everyone.
Format and Support:
Gather & Grow Supper Club is designed as a drop-off workshop for participants who can actively engage in small-group activities while following directions and interacting respectfully with others. Throughout the evening, Ms. Lindsay and Ms. Amanda provide encouragement, guidance, and support to all participants. Because workshops are intentionally kept small and highly interactive, participants should be able to participate successfully without continuous one-on-one support or intensive behavioral support.
Ms. Lindsay’s Theater Productions are designed for participants who can actively engage in group rehearsals, follow directions, and interact respectfully with others. Throughout the rehearsal and performance process, Ms. Lindsay and the production team provide encouragement, guidance, and support to all participants.
Because theater productions involve a larger group and a shared rehearsal process, participants should be able to participate safely without intensive behavioral support. When a participant needs additional assistance to participate successfully, a parent, caregiver, or support person may remain during rehearsals and performances. Any support arrangements should be discussed with Ms. Lindsay in advance so the participant can be supported in a way that also works well for the full cast.
Behavior and Group Participation:
Every participant deserves the opportunity to learn, create, and enjoy a positive workshop experience. If a participant's behavior significantly disrupts the group, creates a safety concern, or prevents others from meaningfully participating, Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops reserves the right to determine that the current workshop or future participation may not be the best fit. These decisions will always be made thoughtfully and with the well-being of both the individual participant and the group in mind.
Arrival & Pick-Up Responsibility:
Participants should be dropped off and picked up on time. Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops cannot provide supervision before or after scheduled workshop hours.
Bathroom Independence:
Participants should be able to use the restroom independently, as staff are not able to assist with personal bathroom needs. Restrooms are conveniently located right next to the program space.
Safety Awareness / Elopement:
Participants must be able to remain safely within the program space. This program is not appropriate for individuals with a history of elopement.
Attendance Commitment:
Plans sometimes change, and that's okay! If you're unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible so another participant has the opportunity to join the adventure.
Workshop Tuition:
Each workshop has a tuition fee, which will be clearly listed during registration. Tuition helps cover instruction, supplies, materials, and other workshop-related expenses. If plans change, refunds may be requested up to 72 hours before the workshop begins. If an unexpected illness or emergency prevents attendance after that time, please contact Ms. Lindsay, and I’ll do my best to work with you.
Liability Acknowledgment:
I understand that participation involves group activities such as food preparation, eating, and group activities. I release Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops, its staff, assistants, and the hosting facility from liability for minor injuries or incidents that may occur during normal participation, except in cases of gross negligence.
Emergency Medical Authorization:
In the event of an emergency, I authorize Ms. Lindsay or designated staff to contact emergency services and/or seek medical assistance if necessary. Every effort will be made to contact the parent/guardian or emergency contact.
Photo & Video Policy:
Photos and videos may be taken during the event by Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops for promotional or educational purposes.
