Our first mystery dinner adventure combined character acting, clue-solving, and plenty of pizza! Cast members received their roles ahead of time so they could prepare costumes and get to know their characters before the event. During the party, participants created their own personal pizzas, revealed their characters’ motives, and worked together to determine who was behind the mystery. The evening ended with accusations, creative theories, and awards celebrating memorable performances and clever storytelling.
Never Time was my original script, written and directed for the inaugural theater production of Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops. Inspired by Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. When time begins to unravel, characters from Wonderland and Neverland are brought together at the mysterious Crossroads. Alice and Peter Pan join forces with the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Lost Boys, Flower Court, and other familiar characters as they try to restore order before their stories—and their worlds—are changed forever. Along the way, they encounter the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, and plenty of confusion, comedy, and theatrical mischief.
Over five days, the cast brought this imaginative adventure to life through acting, music, teamwork, and creativity. The performance raised $807.51 for the 2nd Street Pantry and became an unforgettable first theater production for Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops.
BLTs, Baskets & Besties August 2026
Our first Gather & Grow Supper Club brought a small group together for an evening of cooking, conversation and friendship-building.
Participants worked with partners at different kitchen stations to prepare BLTs, fruit salad, seasoned chips and lemonade. While we cooked and ate together, friendship activities were woven throughout the evening.
We practiced keeping conversations going with Conversation Ping-Pong, became Friendship Detectives by looking at what we know versus what we might be assuming, explored healthy friendship boundaries, and worked through how to make plans with friends when two people may want different things.
Each participant left with a basket filled with pieces from the evening to enjoy or revisit at home, including their friendship bracelet, take-home seasoned chips and materials connected to the friendship skills we practiced.
The basket was a fun way to wrap up the night while reinforcing the bigger idea behind Gather & Grow: learning practical skills, trying new things and creating opportunities to connect with others. 💜
Rise & Shine Challenge September 2026
Our second Gather & Grow Supper Club brought participants together for a breakfast-themed evening focused on cooking, independence and everyday life skills.
Participants worked together to prepare yogurt parfaits with Greek yogurt, honey, granola and fruit, along with egg croissants and fresh orange juice. They helped wash and cut fruit, chop onions, cook sausage, slice croissants, squeeze oranges and learned how to safely prepare eggs in the microwave.
Before dinner, we revisited the importance of personal hygiene with Hygiene Hilda and talked about the everyday routines that help us look, feel and smell our best. Then it was time for Chore Wars! Divided into two teams, participants raced against the clock to complete household tasks like tidying a bed, picking up dirty clothes, throwing away trash and putting items where they belonged. Every participant had a chance to compete, and the winning team earned bragging rights as our Chore War Champions — complete with a photo with the Golden Plunger.
Throughout the evening, the goal was to make practical skills feel fun, social and achievable while giving participants opportunities to contribute, try new things and work together.
Each participant left with a take-home caddy filled with tools and reminders from the evening, including a personalized Rise & Shine mug, a timer, a pouf, recipe cards and a challenge card encouraging them to keep practicing some of the skills we worked on at home.
The caddy was a fun way to extend the experience beyond the Supper Club while reinforcing the bigger idea behind Gather & Grow: building confidence through practical experiences, shared meals and plenty of laughter along the way. 💜
Mac & Mic Nights October 2026
Our Gather & Grow Supper Club brought cooking and comedy together for an evening filled with laughter and creativity!
Participants started the evening by sharing corny jokes around the table before teaming up at different kitchen stations to prepare a build-your-own macaroni and cheese bar, garlic bread, and Punchline Punch.
After enjoying the meal together, everyone had a chance to take the microphone for Mic Minutes, sharing their knowledge about surprise topics. Then things got even sillier with outrageous improv interviews, where participants invented stories, answered unexpected questions, and practiced thinking on their feet.
Two nights of good food, big laughs, and even better company!
Everyone went home with a take-home bag filled with their recipe cards, cheesy jokes, and conversation starters to keep the laughter and connections going beyond the workshop.
