Hi! I'm Ms. Lindsay.
I'm an educator, creator, and lifelong believer in the power of creativity to build confidence, friendships, and community.
I earned my degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Community Arts, and my career has taken me on many different paths. At 39, I discovered the work I was meant to do when I began working with individuals with developmental disabilities. It didn't take long for me to realize I had found my calling.
For six and a half years, I had the privilege of serving as Program Director for the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas. During that time, I developed life skills programs, theater productions, creative workshops, social events, and community experiences that helped individuals discover new talents, gain confidence, and build lasting friendships.
When health challenges led me to step away from that role, I began dreaming about a new way to continue the work I love.
That's how Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops was born.
This isn't about becoming a large organization or building a big business. It's about creating meaningful, engaging, and creative experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities.
I've intentionally chosen to keep things small. That allows me to know every participant personally, stay involved in every workshop, and focus on quality over quantity. I want every person who walks through the door to feel welcomed, encouraged, challenged, valued, and celebrated. I don't measure success by the number of people I serve, but by the confidence they gain, the friendships they build, and the joy they discover along the way.
Theater has quickly become one of my favorite ways to bring people together. My productions are intentionally designed as one-week immersive experiences because I've found this format helps performers build confidence through daily practice, enjoy the creative process, and experience the excitement of presenting a polished production together.
Looking ahead, I plan to offer creative experiences throughout the year—from theater productions and holiday shows to Gather & Grow Supper Club, mystery dinner parties, art, creative writing, and whatever other creative ideas happen to wander into my imagination.
I also plan to make my original productions available for licensing to schools, churches, theaters, and community organizations. Sharing my scripts in this way allows my creative ideas to reach far beyond Northwest Arkansas while keeping my own workshops intentionally small, personal, and hands-on.
Thank you to every participant, family member, volunteer, and friend who has encouraged me and trusted me on this journey. I'm grateful for the opportunity to keep creating meaningful experiences, and I'm excited to see where the story leads next.
Thank you for being part of the journey
Ms. Lindsay
Growing up, I was inspired by my mom, Ms. Donna Rife, who founded Children's Creative Workshop. It was a magical place where children spent their afternoons and summers exploring drama, art, animals, imagination, and endless opportunities to create, play, and discover.
My mom has been one of the greatest inspirations in my life. Her creativity as an interior designer, entrepreneur, writer, and filmmaker taught me to dream big, think creatively, and believe in the power of imagination. In many ways, Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops is a continuation of that legacy—creating meaningful experiences where creativity, friendship, and belonging can flourish.
